I think millions of refugees and illegals getting imported/legalized - pose a more immediate threat the to average trucker, than autonomous trucks.
There are a number of related articles that came out in various different trade rags today (not only trucking-related).
Uber is looking to have a fleet of driver-less CARS - so they can cut THE DRIVER out of the equation.
Some of this technology would be good for us ON THE HIGHWAY - but once you hit the EXIT RAMP, it's gonna be a human that has to get it to bump the dock.

Disclaimer: My original post was not ment to start the dreaded autonomous vehicle debate again. I think that has been run in to the ground already in previous threads on the forum.
I know we have talked about Otto in the forum before and found it interesting that they were bought out by Uber who is slowly making their way in to the trucking industry. I was more interested in the freight matching side of the story. I wanted to share the info in case others were interested.
Please do not turn this in to another autonomous debate!
My apologies!

According to Business Insider Uber’s revenue was between $1.5 billion and $2 billion in 2015.
Wow, all of that...from ride sharing. Just goes to show you, come up with even the simplest of ideas, and if people need it, you can make it big.
