There's not much info out there, Kay. I would ask your FM about it, they have to sign off on it anyway. I would be interested to know what you find out as well.
No problems that I know of. My wife came out with me in my second or third month solo.
Only two people allowed in a company truck, so now that we team we can't have a passenger.
I had the future Mrs Roadie riding with me almost straight away. Ask your FM to fax or email the rider waiver, fill it out and return it, and you're good to go. When you request the waiver you will need to provide your passenger's full name, age, and relationship to you.
Does Prime charge a "Rider Fee"?
If so (and a lot of companies do) this is to cover the added "Personal Injury Protection" & "Liability Insurance" that covers the rider, in the event of an accident (God forbid).

There is a I want to say $15/month charge for insurance. It's not very much.
Let your fleet manager know when taking on a passenger and they will fax/email a form you fill out and send back. You also keep the form on the truck for dot purposes.
Let your fm know when you no longer have a passenger as well.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

I'm very close to upgrading...maybe a week and a half at most. When I get my own truck, I want my 21 year old son to ride with me. I'm nervous about being out here on my own, especially with winter coming fast. Anyone know if Prime makes you wait a certain amount of time before you can have a passenger?
