I'm skeptical
As you should be. My rule of thumb... Always be careful when talking with another driver. Truck stop rumors have wings of their own and it's amazing how some of them take off.
HHG (zip to zip) miles aren't going anywhere. They are the basis for the whole bid process in this business.
My company pays practical miles not HHG.
Companies have all kinds of ways to pay their drivers, but when you peel back all the layers you are going to find that HHG miles are the basis on which everybody bids their freight.
Most of these different ways of paying drivers are just little tricks that are put in place for the benefit of recruiters to entice drivers into the doors.

Was talking to another driver the other day and he mentioned that the zip code to zip code mileage is going away and I guess they are going to start paying drivers door to door..or something like that?
Anyone else heard anything like this? Maybe it's a company thing, I'm not sure. I've not heard anything about it before or since then, so I'm skeptical.
