Unless the original poster was living in their car - the notices for suspension and insurance issues should have arrived by mail.

As much as the companies are looking for WHY you were suspended (and obviously DUI's, major offenses are going to carry more weight than "technical violations"), multiple recent suspensions for "technical reasons" don't demonstrate a level of responsibility that they are looking for as far as making sure you keep your driving privilege active and in compliance.

Once you get your CDL - it becomes your life and livelihood - and we all work REALLY HARD to keep it clean as a whistle.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Here's a little oddity that I learned about the hard way. In Texas the state does not use first class postage on their mail. They are able to use a cheaper rate for bulk mail due to the sheer volume, saving the state boat loads of money in postage expenses. A down side for the person receiving that mail is that if you happen to have moved or changed your mailing address, your mail coming from the state does not get forwarded by the postal service. Apparently those letters mailed with less than first class postage do not go through the standard forwarding procedures.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

I am happy to say that my driving record is spotless. From 1984. Thats as far as they would go back for me. It cost $18 ($2.50 for using my debit card) and it was certainly worth it. Oops, there was something on there for 10/24/16. CMV permit issued. B*) Im grateful to you for starting this thread. Dont give up. Ive heard people getting hired for far worse.

CMV:

Commercial Motor Vehicle

A CMV is a vehicle that is used as part of a business, is involved in interstate commerce, and may fit any of these descriptions:

  • Weighs 10,001 pounds or more
  • Has a gross vehicle weight rating or gross combination weight rating of 10,001 pounds or more
  • Is designed or used to transport 16 or more passengers (including the driver) not for compensation
  • Is designed or used to transport 9 or more passengers (including the driver) for compensation
  • Is transporting hazardous materials in a quantity requiring placards
