Hello,

Unlike many here, I'm not a trucker, but I signed up here to learn more about trucking logistics because our company sells a lot of furniture nationwide and I work with truckers in my role as logistics manager. I'm tasked with sourcing different trucking company to move our furniture.

I'm currently reviewing if Lodeso Logistics is a reliable company to ship furniture with. Does anyone in here have any experience with Lodeso Logistics? They are now part of Watkins & Shepard and Schneider corp.

Mainly, I wanted to know about the reliability, damage rate, and customer service of Lodeso. For example, does Lodeso have a good culture where truckers take care of furniture they move or do they simply not care? I enjoyed working with Watkins over the years, and hope that Lodeso is the same.

Thanks in advance! (I hope this is the correct forum to ask such question, if not, my apologies).

I would say for the most part most truckers care about their product they are hauling, regardless of company. Granted things do happen. Having to stop suddenly, rough roads, etc... As far as preventing damage; properly bracing the load and proper use of dunnage will be a far more important to deter damage. Unfortunately not every eventuality can be planned for.

There is a good reason for truckers to care about the product they are hauling whether or not they truly care about what it is they haul. When there are damages to product, it causes us to sit for long periods of time. If the wheels aren't turning, then we aren't making money. So even the most selfish of truckers have a good reason to do their best to deliver the product unscathed as humanly possible.

I found a note from our Trucking Truth news anchor (about five months old):

Schneider Simultaneously Acquires Watkins & Shepard and Lodeso

That's about it for Lodeso specifically. As for the drivers that participate here, most haul "no touch freight". These drivers rarely load or unload their own trailers.

Patrick > Thank you for sharing your comments. I would agree that most truckers take good care of their cargo. My experience is that some truck companies are better than others. I'm trying to fish out the best of the lot to work with.

Errol > I did read that thread re: Schneider taking over Watkins & Lodeso. Let's hope Watkins continues their excellent work.
