Not necessarily, some apu ans even webasto heaters also keep the block warm.
On tractor trailers, and APU is a small diesel engine that powers a heat and air conditioning unit while charging the truck's main batteries at the same time. This allows the driver to remain comfortable in the cab and have access to electric power without running the main truck engine.
Having an APU helps save money in fuel costs and saves wear and tear on the main engine, though they tend to be expensive to install and maintain. Therefore only a very small percentage of the trucks on the road today come equipped with an APU.
Eeewwwww. So sorry. I'm not gonna complain about -2 in NY now. Hahhaha
You need to snuggle up against someone for body warmth. My cat Football does a good job of that lol
Well when i went over the pass it was -41 My fuel gelled. Put some 911 in cleared up. As soon as I crossed into Utah it was -4 fuel gelled again out some more In but looks like a no go.
The TA had a 2 day wait to put new fuel filters in. 30 trucks in front of me to be serviced.
Man that sucks. My first year I thought all freight that was pulled during winter had to go through WY. Now the company I'm with doesn't even go into WY... I don't miss 70mph sustained winds or whiteouts. Best of luck and stay safe.
