Waiting on a 4 hour bus layover and holy cow are my butt cheeks cold. These metal waiting chairs are the worst. How's winter treating everyone today?

I'm in Knoxville. Asheville bus canceled. Friend gave ride to Knox terminal. Good luck.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

There's a lot of people heading to Prime recently or soon, me included! I head out next weekend. Good luck!

As far as winter treating me, it's FINALLY cold down here in south Louisiana. Luckily it didn't affect my driving test today.

Yesterday it was -10 in parts of Idaho, but today I'm hanging out in warm 44 degrees of Las Vegas!

Good work on the drive test! I think that means you'll be fast tracked when you get to Springfield. I'm starting off fresh, maybe we'll sync up!

Sounds good to me, Top Llama! Though, in all honesty, I'm not sure where I'll be heading. From what I hear, all CDL students go to Springfield and all CDL holders go to Pennsylvania. One thing is for sure, I'll find out when I call my recruiter on Monday!

Either way, good luck!

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
