Natural reaction.
First time I tried shifting a tractor in school (after driving stick my entire life), I was so horrible, it challenged my ego. I was like, "WTF was I thinking". A friend was going through the class with me, told me to STFU and keep driving. Graduated top of my class after 9 weeks.
Keep going.
You have a GOAL IN MIND - getting your CDL is only one step on the way TO THAT GOAL.
Can't know what the path is going to look like, unless you STAY ON IT.

Shaun, you are in school now, getting a "this is real" look at what you've been reading about here for the last two years.
You are now up against three things:
#1: a ton of stuff you're supposed to learn. (Did you go though the High Road Training Program?)
#2: nearly all schools are designed to get you in and get you out in a very short time. If you are serious, you don't have time to stand around and BS like you probably see others doing once you're out learning how to back a trailer.
#3: learning to back to a 53 foot long trailer can be tremendously frustrating. When I was learning this skill, I began to question my decision to learn trucking myself.
It's all a matter of focus, and keeping your goal in view all the time. Remember, actually most people who start this career really do get through and are successful. Decide to be in this group.

A long time lurker and first time poster. I am currently in school, and having second thoughts on whether or not to get the CDL. Is this natural reaction or should I fluff it off. I want this but have reservations.
