Bill I think the best way to determine this is to contact Schneider. Usually a private school is paid for upfront out of the student's pocket. Once employed, Schneider will reimburse you over time in weekly or monthly installments. As long as you continue working for them, you'll end up with your school costs totally reimbursed. Your relative distance from a terminal is usually irrelevant.

During the orientation you will get a physical, drug screen, and background check done. These and other qualifications must be met before someone in orientation is officially hired.
I agree that you should verify the arrangement with Schneider. As much as I believe Schneider to be "top shelf," consider; that $5,300 will take three years to pay back. Most company-sponsored training usually only requires a one-year commitment. That shorter commitment comes with other considerations though, like larger classes and (in some cases) less tolerance for slow learners.
Either scenario can be good. It just depends on what you want.
A Company-Sponsored Training Program is a school that is owned and operated by a trucking company.
The schooling often requires little or no money up front. Instead of paying up-front tuition you will sign an agreement to work for the company for a specified amount of time after graduation, usually around a year, at a slightly lower rate of pay in order to pay for the training.
If you choose to quit working for the company before your year is up, they will normally require you to pay back a prorated amount of money for the schooling. The amount you pay back will be comparable to what you would have paid if you went to an independently owned school.
Company-sponsored training can be an excellent way to get your career underway if you can't afford the tuition up front for private schooling.

I am asking because although it is listed here on TT, when you click on it there is no entry of information on it. They're all over Ohio and work with Schneider and are some how tied into Cincinnati State Community College. The cost of the program is $5,300 and includes 160hrs of training over the four weeks, the cost of the CDL permit and license itself, all endorsements, lifetime job placement, etc. Does this seem too expensive?
