You would find those on a table at a wedding for example, with the guests names on them for assigned seating. The Hazmat signs are Placards. Pronounced Plak- erds.

If you're short on money, you can do what I did. I got my permit with ALL my endorsements. (That is, I took all of the tests) I completed driving school and got hired at Prime. Once I had the money, I went back and took care of the TSA background check. Then, when I went home again, I picked up all my TSA paperwork, went to the DMV , and had Hazmat added to my license.

You take the written DMV HAZMAT test here in WI. When you pass, they enter the info into a computer and you are told to visit FieldPrint site (fingerprinting) to schedule an appointment to get fingerprinted. DHS and FBI do a background check on you. If all is okay, you'll be issued a CDL with HAZMAT endorsement when you pass your DMV driving tests.
