Your overthinking your problem a little bit. Most problems you have with your air brakes you are going to be able to see (gauges) and hear lines leaking air. As far as having problems with as long as you are doing your pre trip and checking your truck out every day when your ready to start driving and notice these issues before they become major problems. Your instructors are there giving you every possible scenario so if something does happen to come up you will at least have some idea of what to do and what it is.
Yeah, Logan is right. Air brakes are no big deal. When you're doing a pre-trip you're going to hear air leaking most of the time if there's a major problem. Otherwise the gauges will tell you if your air pressure is ok.
Air brakes are pretty simple and reliable. When you're first learning about em it seems like a lot to think about but once you've done a bunch of pre-trips and you've gotten used to the terminology you'll see it's no big deal at all.
Yep nothing to air brakes. Today for example I noticed my air pressure gauges were dropping slowly even when I hadn't touched the brake in the last 20 minutes of driving. I stopped at a Pilot, listened for leaks and heard one coming from one of the trailer brake chambers. Luckily this Pilot had a Wingfoot repair center so I went in and they fixed it while I had lunch.

DAC:
Drive-A-Check Report
A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).
It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.
Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.
