Greetings everyone,

I want to take a moment to thank everyone involved in this wonderful site. I recently received my CDL A from the state of Florida & consider this site a main contributor to that goal. I stumbled upon this site about a year ago and could not have been more grateful for doing so. Thank you Rick for all your efforts. Thank you to ALL moderators for keeping such a high standard of quality & defending it tooth & nail. Thank you to every single person who replies to threads for sharing your personal experiences and your insight. I will keep y'all posted on where I go from here. One last time, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU 😊

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

I agree wholeheartedly with Florida Phil! I've been researching getting into truck driving for about a year now, and most forums seem to want make you feel stupid for asking questions. You guys present more and better information, in a very respectful manner than anywhere else that I've visited. Thank you from myself as well.

I couldn't agree more with Florida Phil because they have helped me have a much better and realistic view on trucking. I still can't wait. Thanks from me too!
