Well today I was able to back two times and did well both times. Goaled like 3 or 4 times each time. I am quickly learning that I have got to stay away from that gas station food. Like hardyes and such. Absolutely upsets my body. I am jusy going to have to get a crock pot, fryimg pan, and maybe a good size fridgerator and really stock up because it seems as that is the only way to stay healthy out here. I am in a love affair though with trucking! The money is sweet even when I am in my mentorship with my fantastic mentor!

We had to bob tail to a TA because where we are delivering, couldn't unload us and this is a two stop trip.

Well have a good day and I will keep you posted. Reading signs a bit better and handling the truck a bit better to.

Ok so here is how yesterday went, basically, I started out driving, and no sooner than 3 hours or less was up and we come pass this sign that says I-70 is closes please take this exit in 1 1/4 miles up ahead when flashing. Well it was flashing. So thus we were stuck at a hotel ( which felt great to sleep in a actual bed lol), and spent the night and part of the day there. Then we left and headed down to the shipper and got almost there when I got this sudden ughh feeling and had to pull to the side of the road. Then we went to the loves and my mentor says your getting a shower. He had gotten one at the hotel and I had one like the day befor. Well I get into the loves and I swear, there was like tons of people waiting for a shower. I was number 60, and I waited for at least 45 min. before I was able to get into a shower. Well in the meantime, I was looking at the Real Tree wallets because my other wallet was starting to get wore out. Still might use it later on as a card holder or something.

Well it was at least an hour and a half or so before I finally got to the truck, and we had to hurry on down to the shipper. Well we get there and ended up not being able to unload so we had to drop the trailer off and then go from there and ended up going to the TA near by.

And here we sit, and I am just am waiting to get we can go get the trailer and roll to Salt Lake City, Utah. Then we are picking up a load heading to Indiana. What an adventure. I know one thing though I am purchasing food from Walmart, Target and other places but not this gas station restraunt crap cause it caused you to do just that. It must be cursed with something lol.

Well thats all for now folks, I will tell you more tomorrow and I am almost done with my trainibg and heading to my own truck. Cant wait. It has been quite the adventure.smile.gif

Hey Victor...good update. How many hours of your required 160 have you driven at this point?

Safe travels.

I have 52 hours left and and just did 9 more so that would probably leave me around roughly 43 hours. Super excited.

Wow, Victor! It sounds like you are a natural. Flat bed ought to be have a lot of potentially interesting experiences I would think. It would seem to take you around the country that is for sure. I'll bet those tarps are heavy, too heavy for a guy my age (64).

I start school with Swift on May 22. Briefly drove for Averitt about 2-3 years ago. Before that i was in a truck with a mentor and this was for Con-Way. I am disappointed I quit, should have stuck it out with a new mentor. Con-Way seemed really a neat company to drive for.

Take care.

Thanks G-Town and Traffic Jam! I cannot believe the money I could make at a company like Swift! I just made $507 this week! I drove through Wyoming and Utah like 4 times now and oir next load from Tenneessee is going to Washington state😁😁😁😁. Excited.

So yet another update the last two runs have been multiple stops. This run we are on now is 3 stops and we are at our second stop. I am getting much better as my incredible trainer Jamar Holland, is training me and although it annoys me that I have to straighten out 200,000 times I am getting to where it comes naturally. Loving the scenes. Some of the roads though feels like they are trying to break the truck lol. I maybe taking some cookies with me since the boxes were damaged.

I will give you a update.
