Well I graduated from CDL school last Wednesday dancing-banana.gif

Was not able to update my post in the other forum much. Long days, lots of studying, and lack of Internet access wouldn't allow it lol.

I took my state skills test on Wednesday morning and passed,so was able to get to the BMV to get my license. There were 5 of us that passed and was able to graduate before thanksgiving.

I'm proud to say I received the Top Gun award for my class. They keep track of classroom, range, driving, and state skills test scores to come up with the GPA for the class. Mine was the highest in the class so I received the award shocked.png

Thanks to Brett and all the great posters on this site for the help and support!

I will start orientation with Knight Transportation on the 9th. Wanted to take this week off between school and work, now I think I'll be pulling my hair out waiting to get started lol.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Department of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Motor Vehicles

The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.
