So many more Swifties poppin up in here it's good to see. For a while I thought I was one of the only ones. If any of you have any questions going into the academy don't be afraid to ask or send a PM and if you ever come through the Lancaster terminal in Texas give me a shout. We can go out to dinner at the 5 star Waffle House 😂

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

In my time on TT, if there's anything I've noticed is that there's always some company that all the drivers are going to.

When I joined, Prime was the bread and butter of TT. Every new driver was going to Prime.

Then it switches to Swift.

Then Central Refrigerated.

Then the attention comes to Roehl.

There's always the one company that is kind of like the "company of the month". In random order. Whichever company the new drivers go to that's that company. This month it is Swift, last month was Roehl.

You know, I've noticed the same thing. I'm not sure why that is. Just a coincidence I guess.

Yeah. I mean, we doesn't advertise for anyone to join a specific company. So it has nothing to do with us. Really just a coincidence.

I'll go on a limb here and say most people aren't very thorough with their online researching. If prime is the topic of the month then students will end up being swayed that way. I went with central because they had the least complaints online haha.

I went with Central because they had the shortest training program. I didnt want to spend anymore than 4 weeks with a trainer. shocked.png

Well...lets look at it this way....If a person can come on here and ask if anyone drives for company a....and they get positive replies....then they would lean toward going with that company from the "research" they did right here !!! I know I wouldn't believe anything said on any other site...

I could barely stand ten days with a trainer. Hygiene wasn't his thing.

My "first" trainer was pretty much a total ******. I could go into a long rant about it involving trying to bang former students and forced lack of sleep but that speaks for itself. My second trainer was awesome! Apparently that guy got a lot of complaints about yelling at students but we had a great time on the road.

The short training time was also a plus for me although it was a lot of extra stress but I learned a lot from being "thrown to the sharks". However, switching trainers midway through did add an extra week to my time.
