I am getting ready to start my training with Stevens Transport. I just wanted to if someone could tell what I really need to take on the truck with my trainer. If anyone has any real answers, please let me know. Since space is limited I don't want to take what is not necessary.

Thanks

At least 7 days worth of clothes. Extra socks, shirts and underwear can't hurt. Toiletries, charging cables and chargers for 12 volt and 110. A small backpack or bag to pack a change of clothes and toiletries for showers. Work gloves, safety glasses, your CDL and medical, pens, a notebook, sunglasses, an extra pair of shoes. A sleeping bag, and pillow. Expect to have to keep all of your stuff on the top bunk. In my KWT680 that's 7 feet long x 30 inches wide. You can also search in our custom search bar for "what to take on your trainer's truck." That should give you other ideas. Good luck.

Thanks for the info. Where does the trainee have to sleep, top bunk or floor. I've heard a couple of floor answers.

Seriously, I'd love to know where you heard "floor" answers? No one ever sleeps on the floor. Ever.

You'll be sleeping on the top bunk.

Here's a huge list of Items To Pack For CDL Training. Obviously you won't bring all of that stuff but it gives you a good rundown and might give you a few ideas you hadn't thought of.

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
