I just read a post on Facebook ( I'm a member of a Trucker's Wives group there), about a missing driver last seen in FL. This really hit home, since I know the worry and heartache that women at home go thru when they don't hear from their driver at the expected time, date, or can't contact him for one reason or another. Believe me, your mind really does some weird things when this kind of scenario unfolds in your life. That being the case, since TT has grown to cover a very large area of the highways and biways of the lower 48, I was wondering if we could add a forum/section/area for a person to post a missing driver or truck. It would be another place that would put another set of eyes on the hiways, truckstops, shippers, receivers, etc. Just a thought.....

Shipper:

The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.

I agree. If possible that would be very beneficial. Jeff is on the road (phase 1) with his trainer and we keep up with one another via life360 app on our phones and are able to do a "check in". I worry about him just as much as he worries about me on the country roads at night. Starcar, are there any apps being suggested on your group page (FB)?

Do a search for "A Truckers Wife"...or "Trucker's Wives" theres 2 groups...I'd been with them for alot of years, until they went to facebook....then not so much. I prefer the forum based sites...its a little easoer to keep up with, and its more intimate..jmho.

I've heard of this happening...heard a few stories too. I know I've heard of a group that searches for lost drivers, but I can't for the life of me think of their name right now.

It really wouldn't do any good to have a feature like this on TruckingTruth because:

1) Nobody comes to TruckingTruth looking to report or search for missing drivers. We don't get search results for that sort of thing and people simply wouldn't expect to find something like that here.

2) There are already sites doing that and it's best to let them keep doing it. You really don't want 5,000 sites all dealing with missing drivers. You really want one site ideally. That way when someone wants to report a missing driver or search for one they all go to the same place. You wouldn't want to have to go to 5,000 different sites posting messages and doing searches.
