Big lesson was "we are not truck drivers, we are TRAILER drivers!"
That is a great phrase! Trust me, that truth humbles many a rookie driver in their eagerness to get things done out here.

Today was 2nd day with 53' trailers, (manual transmissions). Yesterday we drove around the track, and were introduced to uncoupling and coupling.
Today we were in the "rectangle" (open lot) driving over and around cones, un- & coupling and turning in to park in a row.
We did a basic stop and right turn, right turn, wove through cones split and merged lanes. I was driving two different rigs. Spent most time in hardest-to-shift one. Got up to 5 and down to 3 a few times. Big lesson was "we are not truck drivers, we are TRAILER drivers!"
Other lessons were how much room it takes to make such maneuvers, how closely you have to watch your mirrors and how quickly and easily things could go terribly wrong!
