It will still be based on company policy like I said earlier. Some companies do not allow PC at all. It is not even an option on the qualcomm. Mine allows 30 minutes before it puts you on drive and violates hos.

I am pretty sure safety can go in and change the parameters in the Qualcomm if absolutely neccessary but, I dont think you'll find yourself needing this PC move to find parking often. If you do, you are not planning well enough. Stuff does happen out here from time to time though.

Qualcomm:

Omnitracs (a.k.a. Qualcomm) is a satellite-based messaging system with built-in GPS capabilities built by Qualcomm. It has a small computer screen and keyboard and is tied into the truck’s computer. It allows trucking companies to track where the driver is at, monitor the truck, and send and receive messages with the driver – similar to email.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

In his case, his company allows 2 hours per day, and even then, I would discuss it with dispatch. Man plans, God laughs
