Just got the phone call that I begin cdl training on 9-17-2018. So stoked to go to a school with only 6 students max. Been reading these diaries here for months and got a lot of useful info. Now back to studying my brains out for the written test. Ill keep this post updated once I'm on my way to Missouri.

Thanks guys, nervous as hell but so excited. This site has been a great help in all aspects of getting ready. The support from other drivers is exactly what a newbie needs to get him over the hump and this site provides that. Only hard part is telling my 6 year old daughter that daddy is going away for a bit. Its for her why Im doing this though.

Hey Jared, I'll be going to the class with you on the 17th in Missouri for Wil Trans. I've been reading alot of good things on this site about them and trucking period, really looking forward to a new career! I've been taking the tests on here and it's really been a great thing for me.

David, that is awesome! It will be cool to know someone before I get there. Im comng from Harlingen, TX. About as far in south TX as u can get. Almost in Mexico. Not looking forward to the bus ride. Where are you coming out of??? Looking forward to meeting u, it will make the training at little less stressful.

Hey Jared, It was great to see you were going to be in the same class at Wil-Trans also, I talked to Ryan today,he said he is your recruiter also, small world, huh! I'm coming in from Warren,Ohio, we're near the Pa. line, about 60 miles southeast of Cleveland. I'm not looking forward to that bus trip either, but I am looking forward to being there and starting this new, exciting career! I'll see you there soon!

Wil-Trans:

Darrel Wilson bought his first tractor in 1980 at age 20, but, being too young to meet OTR age requirements, he leased the truck out and hired a driver.

Through growth and acquisition, Wil-Trans now employs over 200 drivers, and has a long-standing partnership with Prime, Inc. to haul their refrigerated freight. The family of businesses also includes Jim Palmer Trucking and O & S Trucking.
