I started with Schneider dry van. Operated out of the Lebanon (Nashville), TN Operating Center.
Schneider was great! If you have a good attitude and work hard, they treat you well. But so do a lot of companies.
What I liked with Schneider was;
1. Plenty of freight lanes nationwide.
2. Plenty of Operating Centers so you can get showered, safe parking, do laundry, etc.
3. Use of company car at each OC to get groceries.
4. $.02/mile bonus, which is attainable from the beginning.
I only left because I found a Southeast regional that pays as well, but gets me home more.
I felt Schneider was a great, professional company.
Good luck and I hope this helps.
Usually refers to a driver hauling freight within one particular region of the country. You might be in the "Southeast Regional Division" or "Midwest Regional". Regional route drivers often get home on the weekends which is one of the main appeals for this type of route.
I agree with everything Steve said. I also started with them, and they were/are a great company. I left for personal reasons nothing to do with the company.
