When I was in school, I too, wanted a copy of the mysterious DAC report. I applied to Schneider using an online app here on TT. When you e-sign a job application for trucking, there's generally a box where you must agree that you understand they'll check your background etc and a place to indicate if you'd like to receive a copy of any reports they use. I indicated "yes" and within 24 hours, I got an email with an attachment containing my DAC. I'd never worked as a commercial driver, so it was BLANK. Imagine that a Drive check (DAC) report being blank for someone who's never yet held a CDL nor worked as a driver.
The company that creates the DAC is called Hire-Right.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).
It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.
Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.
Error correction. DAC is a Drive-A-Check report.

Hey Susan
I drove for 11 years before my motorcycle accident in July of 2010. Now I'm better after 5 surgeries. Anyway I loved being a truck driver and I will return to it soon. I just got my re-test for the DMV for next Wednesday. Anyway I'm babbling. I don't want any surprises on my report before I apply to some of the carriers.
The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.
Makes perfect sense since you've previously been employed as a driver. I don't have the link handy but can order and view it online immediately from Hire Right is my understanding.

I had asked for my DAC Report from HireRight and was told it was on it's way. That was Right after I started here at TT. Well I called today to find out how much longer it would be, before I start sending off resumes to potential employers. So the lady I talked to was really nice and pleasant. But said she couldn't pull any request up. So she started it and said I should have it within 15 working days. Which is still reasonable. I just don't want any surprises. I know things happen and the person I talked to before may have mislayed the request, anyway it didn't get done. They get so many requests daily, so I will be patient.
