Do ever run into Canada? If so is your dedicated run into there very often? Just wondering?

Dedicated Run:

A driver or carrier who transports cargo between regular, prescribed routes. Normally it means a driver will be dedicated to working for one particular customer like Walmart or Home Depot and they will only haul freight for that customer. You'll often hear drivers say something like, "I'm on the Walmart dedicated account."

Hi Robert. Thanks for thinking of me...

My territory is dedicated to the North East Region of the US delivering dry and perishable groceries to the Walmart’s and Sams located in eastern PA (Harrisburg to Philly), all of NJ, DE, north east Maryland (to Baltimore) and occasionally eastern NY state (Albany, south to Binghamton) There is an infrequent backhaul from VA; “Hood Dairy”.

I have been as far north as New Haven on this gig delivering a Blitz “High-Val” load early last month. So a long winded way of saying; no to Canada.

Good luck with orientation. Here to assist if you need the help. Safe travels.

Well thanks for the info. I have picked refer at one of the refer terminals in Fontana, CA. But I talked to the head of the division and he said I could work out of Lathrop which is only 64 miles from my house in Sacramento. After talking to him for about an hour, he said that if I wanted to stay out for a month at a time he'll do his best to run me hard. I don't mean forced runs. I thought there would have been more than four refer terminals for Swift.

We had two classes for orientation this week and out of the people there there are 20 of us still waiting on the hair follicle test results to come back. I was there since Sunday evening when I got there (about 430 miles). Was in the motel until yesterday morning when I checked out. They checked at 9:30 and again at 12:30, still no results. So it was decided to send us home (most whom live in the LA area), So I drove back home yesterday afternoon and waylaid at a rest stop about half way. And finished driving this morning about 3:45 and got home around 6 am. She told me she would call on Monday with the results. So I am anxious to get to work. But patience, is the way to be.

anyway, good chat be safe and have a great holiday.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
