I'm at the Flying J, off 201 in SLC...see you are in town. My delivery is to Americold tomorrow at 1800 but going to try to see if I can drop and hook if we have a trailer there.

Drop And Hook:

Drop and hook means the driver will drop one trailer and hook to another one.

In order to speed up the pickup and delivery process a driver may be instructed to drop their empty trailer and hook to one that is already loaded, or drop their loaded trailer and hook to one that is already empty. That way the driver will not have to wait for a trailer to be loaded or unloaded.

Rainy,

Based on my stalking, you might be rolling through St. Louis this weekend. Maybe midday Sunday?

Let me know if you'll have any time for a lunch or a cup of coffee.

Rob.

Was hoping for a drop and hook but we don't have a trailer at the receiver. I hope they send me East after this love those long runs. But the weather is perfect here and it looks like the east is dealing with severe weather. Be safe.

No biggie just would have loved to met you. Things ended up great for me today. Dispatcher called me and said there was an empty so I dropped and hooked went down to Springville and I'm headed to Streetsboro Ohio I love those runs. Almost 2,000 miles delivery early Monday morning. I got to bust my butt. These are the runs I love... didn't pick up my trailer till noon but I just got parked... Got my 600 miles in.

Dispatcher:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
