I have had 2 rand mcnally units and i would highly suggest biting the bullet while i dont 100% rely on it in my almost 3 yrs of using them they have never one time failed me

For follow up , has Truckers Path released an update that fixed issues brought up on this post? If it works well enough , I don't want to buy a Rand McNally GPS unit. But kind of want a Rand McNally GPS so I can have the dash cam (as a back up to the company one).

I would go for the RM as well, though I would not completely trust it or any GPS. Mine dropped me in the middle of downtown Portland ME, instead of Hemco Rd in South Portland ME. Future trips worked great.

There are other weird things it does, but I would always check it’s route against company directions

Thank you Jeremy and Grumpy.

I have a friend that swears by his Garmin Dezl. One feature I like is the ability to easily change your route. RM lets you add via points but then you have to hit continue after each via point. Not normally an issue but if you have a bunch of via points - for instance, local streets close to your destination- it’s a pain to hit continue after every turn.

I would love to see how Garmin does it.
