Be upfront and give up some of your time off prior to this time and im sure a company would work with you if your a person who constantly asks for hometime im sure they wont be so understanding
I agree with Jeremy. November is a ways down the calendar, but not too far out. Just let this be known from the get-go and you should be fine.
Welcome to the Trucking Truth site. We’re glad you’re here and getting ready to start.
Depending on which company you start with most OTR give you a day off for each week. So if it means staying on the road for almost two months do it. It will just make your vacation more special.
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
Thanks for the advice i am waiting for a call back from Prime hope all goes well I am sure I will be back with more questions.

Ok finally getting a chance to go into trucking a dream of mine for a long time. Wife is fully onboard with one hang up. We have a trip payed for and can’t get out of it with out loosing a lot of money. Any thoughts of a company that would work with me on a week off in November (thanksgiving week ) as some one just starting out in this challenging career. Or am I asking to much. I am willing to stay out as much as needed till then to make this work.
OOS:
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
