You're going to my building so you're experiences would be very similar to mine. My instructor is no longer teaching, but the people they have are great.

Idk how these hiring events work because I never stick around for them, but I suggest having your permit already and as long as you have less than 3 moving violations, you should be good.

Oh okay that’s cool, I hope so. I’m excited. Small world. I went and they gave me a job offer. I did all of my paperwork online. I have my medical scheduled for Monday just have to wait for a start date if all goes well. I don’t think I should have a problem. We will see.

If they have City driver spots open you can, but it varies. Some buildings only do linehaul as just serve as a hub. NNW for example only hires road drivers because they don't do city operations. Ask your operations manager if it's possible to switch, they would know best.

Linehaul:

Linehaul drivers will normally run loads from terminal to terminal for LTL (Less than Truckload) companies.

LTL (Less Than Truckload) carriers will have Linehaul drivers and P&D drivers. The P&D drivers will deliver loads locally from the terminal and pick up loads returning them to the terminal. Linehaul drivers will then run truckloads from terminal to terminal.

Great reading the details. Does FedEx Freight offer a pet rider policy option? I can’t seem to find a solid answer anywhere.

Hi Banks. I’m thinking of going the apprentice route with FedEx but can’t find info about a pet rider policy. I was following Shelby’s channel on YouTube “Happiness by the Mile” and she took her dog in the truck with FedEx. I can’t find any info anywhere. Do you or anyone have info before I head down this road? Thanks!

Happiness by the mile works for a FedEx contractor at FedEx ground, she is not a FedEx employee. FedEx freight does not do sleepers and is a home daily job, with the occasional layover. They do not allow pets or passengers in their trucks.

FedEx ground and FedEx freight are two different companies with the same owner. It's like Pepsi and Frito lay. PepsiCo owns Pepsi beverages and Frito lay, but they operate independent of each other. FedEx owns FedEx ground, FedEx Express, FedEx freight, FedEx office and FedEx custom critical. They all operate independent of each other.
