Not necessarily true, especially if one is lease. I know quite a few couples who do this. The spouse only wants to drive 1000 to 1500 or so miles a week. That makes the other spouse do most of the driving. The lease/co driver work out their pay agreement themselves, so Prime doesnt care. Any miles driven by the co-driver allows for more than it would be as a solo truck, and most likely, there would be less home time with the spouse there. Either way, the truck produces more. Hopefully, happier drivers too. They usually get loads with more time on them or they get really short loads, but it gets done. As with anything else its about communication and relationship with the dispatcher.
Dispatcher:
Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager
The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
