Sorry to hear you had to witness such a tragedy Richard. I'm glad that it sounds you're in a better place now. If being homeless prevents many companies from giving you an opportunity check out CRST. They're all team, not sure how you feel about that, but one of our members MillionMiler84 went through their sponsored program and became a lead driver/trainer. I dont know how the dui policy with them though.

I talked to my preacher yesterday, He gave me a number to a guy He knows. I called him up and he gave me a number to a company he works for. Said he would vouch for me, even tho He doesn't know me. which is very cool of him. I'm gonna call them tomorrow. Hopefully this will pan out. I'ts flatbed, but it pays a straight salary of 1,250 a week and off on weekends. but I'll take it. if they will have me that is. we shall see. smile.gif

I called Schilli Trucking. they require you to have a CDL beforehand. so that fell thru. Anyways, Thanks for everyone's replies to my post. Be Safe out there everyone.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
