I stopped and looked at a 20” folding bike. I’m going to see if I can get the shop to remove my passenger seat. If so I’m definitely going to get one.

Cool beans Grumpy!

So people seem to prefer the smaller wheels... definitely will fold smaller. I was looking for something which I thought would work well both on and off the CMV and in my PC. 26" was my call. But as with practically everything in life... you gotta go with what works for you.

My take is the best bike is the one you have with you and ride!

  • Is designed or used to transport 16 or more passengers (including the driver) not for compensation
  • Is designed or used to transport 9 or more passengers (including the driver) for compensation

Grumpy... Dahon is considered to be one of the better such bikes. Better folding frame design and execution and higher quality components than mine. This is a good deal, I think:

Dahon 2019 SUV D6 Deltec White 20" Wheel Folding Bike

Got mine back from a local shop. Wheels trued, brakes adjusted, fork now facing forward shocked.png

and taller suspension seat post installed. $100 later I am very happy.

I guess if a local dealer was $100 or so more than online and included setup and tuning that would be a good way to go. Didn't take the time to search exhaustively but did not expect to find a lot of folding bikes in retail stores.

I was looking at the Tern C8, a bit pricier. I want to see if I can find the Dahon locally to look at, that is a much better price

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Wow!

Well clearly that is another way to go!

Impressive battery/range/charging specs to be sure!

2x the weight, larger size folded than my 26" (I think), 6x the price. Poor packing would be a concern too, depending on where it ships from and how. I was really impressed with how my bike was packed. It clearly had a hard hit or two and the handlebar post does go through the front wheel but even with a break in the box it arrived undamaged and quickly.
