Its chemical tankers in the southeast, they are training us on smooth bore tanks with between half to full load. It is different, they broke us in during Houston rush hour traffic. I like it so far.

Another great thing about SNBC is that every one of my trainers so far have been hauling bulk and working for them for 15 plus years.

Exercise extreme care when cornering, braking and backing. You’ve got thousands of gallons of heavy liquid sloshing around...it will literally push you through an intersection or off the road.

Be careful!

Yes, I have felt the surge, they want you to go slow. And so far the training has been very good and very in depth. And no greyhound bus tickets, they flew us all out and for the next stage of training at a different location, they rented us a car. No bus tickets. That was a huge deciding factor for me, other than the load and unload pay plus detention pay.

Schneider does have a very good training program for tankers. The bad side is that that division has been up and down like a yoyo. I know several of their drivers. We all use the same tank washes and as all drivers do we compare notes. In tankers most of the companies set up equip at the washes. I can name many that the equipment sits for long periods. Augusta has 2 trucks sitting there probably growing roots by now. They keep trying to boost that fleet but seem to have alot of setbacks.

My best advice. Always think about what you are doing and about to do. Both driving and handling chemicals.

OWI:

Operating While Intoxicated

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. Looking forward to seeing some of you on the road.
