I see it every day. Couple months ago I had a trailer brake chamber fail on me and while waiting to get service on the side of the interstate couldn't believe how many trucks blew right by me and didn't pull over to the left lane. I literally feared for the mechanics life, you could tell he was young and dumb... the way he parked his service truck and walked along the drivers side of my truck... I asked him if he had a death wish?
Commercial trade, business, movement of goods or money, or transportation from one state to another, regulated by the Federal Department Of Transportation (DOT).
This is why Illinois has begun to crack down on people not moving over, I have seen them with a truck "pulled over" and 2 or 3 state troopers hiding behind it watching for people who do not move over. Same thing with just a police car or highway truck with the lights on other state troopers will be sitting up ahead watching.
It really amazes me how many cars and trucks will not make any effort to move over or even slow down.

It's probably safe to say that all truck drivers are aware that each of the 50 states has a "Move Over" law. However, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, it seems that 71 percent of other drivers haven't got the memo, and whoosh by dangerously close to law enforcement personnel, emergency vehicles and tow trucks.
Too many drivers still don't know to "Move Over"
Dm:
Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager
The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.OOS:
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
