Yesterday Dave Nemo covered some aspects to this. He explained part of the US Attorney’s report. This is far different from other companies going out of business. This one is fully due to crimes committed by the upper mangement to line their own pockets at the expense of the company and employee’s. This company did not go under from lack of work or simple poor management. This was criminal acts committed by the top leaders. They focused on 3 former exec’s, but there is probably more to the story.

In any case it is a very sad day for 4000 employee’s due to the greed of a very few.

Theft and greed. What gets me is these three are going to jail for decades (and rightly so) but the high functioning crooks who caused the collapse of the housing market back in 07-09? Crickets chirping.

Companies are really stepping up big time to help out the Celadon drivers. What a great brotherhood in the trucking industry despite all the competition. Saw this on today’s zip recruiter email

Or you can say that companies are excited to snatch all these already trained drivers

Ya, I hear ya. Scooping up the drivers is definitely a part of it but their covering travel, meals, throwing in a nice bonus. The company didn’t have to be so generous, a lot of those drivers may have applied and ended up there anyway if even if the help wasn’t offered saving the company 13-14k per driver. Its just nice to see something positive like that

I just saw a Celadon trailer roll by me here in Portland, OR. Daycab pulling it, not Celadon.
