DOT physical does not include a drug screen unless its pre employment or one set up by the school before classes. DOT exam is checking for protein and sugars in your urine. Keep documentation from the hospital about it in case in comes back positive. A quick search tells me it should only stay in your system for 3 days. When is your physical scheduled?

Expanding on Rob's advice:

Get hold of the record of your Rx. At least a copy of the prescription or go to the ER office and get a copy of the Doctor Order (same as a prescription but written for the nurse).

The lab will use the hair follicle test for the previous 90 days. Have PHOTOCOPIES of your papers (you keep a set) with you when they take your hair sample.

You asked here because you figured it's important, and it is career killing important. So it's belt and suspenders time.

As a safety precaution, if you are able to delay your physical for FOUR MONTHS - 120 days - after you were given the shot, you'll be better off. But keep your documents for at least a year (belt & suspenders). Idea: take good photographs of the paperwork and keep them in your camera. A plus to this idea: if your have Google Photos online, make a separate album there for those pictures.

Just my ,02 cents. I too had been given morphine at the ER. I did everything that was just advised that you should do. I didnt wait for the results to come back to say anything. I told the orientation personnel on day 1, gave them copies of the ER discharge papers which stated the full extent of my visit & amounts of prescribed drugs in my system. I passed 2 hair follicle tests without a positive result. The nurse said the amount I was given should've been out of my system by then. Good luck.
