Didnt you get my reply that was directly from my regional manager
Usually refers to a driver hauling freight within one particular region of the country. You might be in the "Southeast Regional Division" or "Midwest Regional". Regional route drivers often get home on the weekends which is one of the main appeals for this type of route.

I am growing very frustrated. We have rented a Ryder truck for a trip out to California for a trade show. I am having a VERY difficult time trying to set up the Geotab ELD they use. No one - NO ONE- at Ryder can explain how it works. I have downloaded and installed the Geotab Drive app which is supposed to keep track of your HOS , but it won't recognize the truck - I keep getting an error message on my phone saying "No connection to the vehicle. Ensure that the telematics device is communicating." I was told that this was because the truck was not in the Ryder database but I checked with Ryder and it is in the database - they can track its location. If I cannot get this set up before I have to leave can I use paper logs?
