Driving Under the Influence
Taylor,
Instead of running it up the Trucking Truth tree ....why doesn’t he send out applications. Use this link Apply For Paid CDL Training
I’m not sure how they will treat the “code”listed on his license. They will look at the suspensions as a negative though.
I would suggest he fill out as many applications and send them. See what kind of feedback he gets. Remember...these are not credit reports...nothing happens if they say no thank you.
Good luck!

Thank you for your insight Tim. I really appreciate it!
My boyfriend is a 26 year old Navy veteran. He was arrested in Oct 2018 for a DUI in CA. The DMV gave him a hearing which he lost, and his license was suspended for four months - reinstated April 25, 2019. No criminal charges were filed and subsequently no criminal convictions are on his record.
We purchased a print out of his DMV record and under “actions taken,” it lists the suspension with the code 133532 and says on the form “excessive blood alcohol level.” He has since had one other brief suspension for a lapse in insurance coverage.
He is interested in his CDL and a trucking career. Based on experience & knowledge, does this sound disqualifying? Again, no criminal charges nor convictions, but there is that DMV mark of 133532.
Thank you for any information, insight, or even opinions! - Taylor
Sorry to say it looks like it may have to wait awhile. He lost the hearing, license was suspended for the DUI.
Talk to an attorney to get their take on it. Perhaps there is a way to vacate the original conviction and move forward.
I would talk to an attorney before I start applying to companies.
