Got a call from some office lady Friday, couldn't answer as I was driving....So today waiting at drop spot, gave her a call back. Well, she called to congratulate me being with CRST coming on 6 months. And she handles right now Calif drivers, checks in on them, see how things are going yada yada. Mentions she likes what she see's I've done so far, and says I can possibly move to another division if I want to. Gardner Trucking is 1 option, solo running 6 western states, 5 days on 2 off a week....A dedicated route , stay as a team , be a Lead driver, be a trainer (NOT !) just a few things she mentioned.....There are like 7 other sub divisions...YRC doubles , R&L, STI, and Malone flatbed, in CRST's arsenal

Told her I did like the solo idea, but I wanna be able to do 3000-4000 miles a week if possible. Teams is ok, but finding and keeping a good co driver ain't no picnic, and I don't wanna be off a week or 2, like last month finding a co driver Well, it's a process and she said can take 30-45 days but will keep in touch. Also to NOT tell my DM lol.... 1 guy she talked to told his DM he was getting off the truck , and it didn't sit well, Dm got on her case etc. I said no worries will see whats up later anyway, no reason to jump the gun early. Til I know all the options and what they come with too!

Dedicated Route:

A driver or carrier who transports cargo between regular, prescribed routes. Normally it means a driver will be dedicated to working for one particular customer like Walmart or Home Depot and they will only haul freight for that customer. You'll often hear drivers say something like, "I'm on the Walmart dedicated account."

Doubles:

Refers to pulling two trailers at the same time, otherwise known as "pups" or "pup trailers" because they're only about 28 feet long. However there are some states that allow doubles that are each 48 feet in length.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Oh and we just missed out on rolling a 7,500 mile week grrrrr couldn't make last run in time for pay roll, so ended up with just 6,500 miles split Burnt up our 70's chasing the 650+ a day, now trying run less time (9.5 hours), and bank hour or 2 for the last day, to keep rolling recaps

Man, that stinks. I've gotta say, though...that fender bender was a 'dandy' .... do you know if he's getting additional training / safety videos, a spanking, or a bus ticket?

I'm no driver, but.... IMHO, that wasn't okay.

Keep us posted; wishing you the best, Stevo. We know how hard you've worked to get where you are today, sir. good-luck.gif

Best wishes;

Anne :)

Lol Anne no he is my ride-along for now..... I did 4 empty trailer moves around Dallas....Had steak dinner at Dennys n parked at Loves for the night....

Still no load outta here lol. Sent QC message maybe they can think outside the hox, get a team load and just let me run it out solo..... Do 10.75 hours sleep n drive. Aint that far (1385 miles) to home terminal jeeeze.

Should be 2 drive shifts and lil bit of 3rd to be back at home terminal then they can deal with his problems lol...I ain't making no dough parked, BUT my DMs pretty good bout taking care of me, so am not stressing about it...This too shall pass ;)

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

You've been blessed w/ steak, and a golden opportunity to prove YOUR worth, as you are and have been. There's a saying about that...goose w/the golden egg moreless.... Keep us in the loop and learn from others' shortcomings, per se.

Best to you, Stevo!

Well, been here at our Riverside Terminal a week now. 2 possible co drivers flaked out, well 1 grabbed him up a co. Guess I will go to driver meeting see whats up there at 11. This finding new co driver is part of this team thing I dreaded lol

Hopefully, the CRST Dedicated recruiter gets things lined up to switch over to Gardner..... Be driving solo, the 6 western states, 5 days out 2 off @ 47 cpm.....Need steady work/checks, this up n down stuff blows....Think I can do a lot better solo, then I can drive as much as possible, even if I can stay out weeks,, n rack up miles than deal with a lazy co driver or time waster hahahaha......

4 months, 'n change, to finish my contract either way... Time has flown by, then I'm goin to Philippines again, once year 1 ,is in the books set up my retirement life lol

I have a plan and a mission to complete in under 2 years
