I am a big boy I will land on my feet some were. My dream is and was Finnish up my working carrier as a trucker?? Any suggestions or ideas R most welcome. Home spot is Las Vegas and am trying to get back to Indianapolis,my 1st grand baby will B here in early August Phyced up but we're the job is so b it. Thank u guys for any suggestions. John

Use this link and sign up. When you get responses, be very upfront about the accident. Don't blame the trainer. You are old enough to know that if you aren't sleeping in your 10 hrs, you should NOT be driving....especially if you haven't slept in 3 days. If ever you can't speak to your trainer, your DM is only a phone call away. Don't know if you can be hired or not. Just use the link above and find out.

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Your new trucking career is not finished for a backing accident. This is a hard profession to learn and takes some time. Yes you made a mistake but try to learn from it. Start applying to other companies. I would not volunteer the reason you got fired. Eventually you will find a company desperate for drivers. Get your first 1 to 2 years of experience and then look for a better truck job.

I completely disagree with this. For one, all applications are going to ask, " May we contact your former employer?" Check NO on that box and wave a big red flag. The company will contact the previous company anyway.

Another application question is, "Have you ever been fired from a job?" Attempt to conceal the truth and it will be found out why during the background checks.

Lastly, why go into driving for a company with the mindset of it's only temporary? Aim high! Go into any job driving hoping it is the only company you're ever going to be at.

Totally agree with Pack Rat here. I’m 7 years with Swift. Unless you hang with a company beyond a year, you’ll never fully experience the benefits said company has to offer a top performer.

Be honest and have a well thought-out explanation as to how you learned from your mistake and how you can prevent it from happening again. Non-disclosure is not truthful or trustworthy.

Good luck!

You are a youngster....I will be 69 in July....so driving 53 years in 4 wheelers with 10 of that in a truck, pulling van, reefer , drop deck and a bull rack. You're only as old as you feel ;-)
