Have a friend who got his start with them a few years ago and now drives for CFI. He has always kept in touch with them.
They are no longer accepting new drivers, only experienced. No teams unless they are hired as a team. They are now leasing their trucks from Penske and Penske is handling maintenance.
They are no longer a second chance company.
I have a theory about second chance companies. Generally they pay less, have higher turn over and due to the lower pay their better drivers tend to leave as soon as they can for higher pay. At some point I would think the cost of damage caused by a continuous cycle of inexperienced drivers and training/turnover costs of new drivers would outweigh the costs of paying a better wage and keeping better drivers. Dont get me wrong, many people deserve and appreciate being given a second chance to succeed but at what point do you think the costs outweigh the benifits?
