Is it just me, or do trainers make trainees nervous without knowing it. My trainer is great, but for some reason, when I am to do backing, I get nervous with the trainer there and I feel as if I screw up when I shouldn't. I have a very good foundation for the backing, and I can always fix myself if need to be. But when somebody is correcting me without giving myself to get out of it, i screw up. My mind tells me one thing, but the trainer is telling me another. I'm conflicted.

Tell the trainer to let you try on your own.

I've been blessed with my trainer also being my boyfriend. He's very knowledgeable so I pay attention. I am not in any school so doing the DMV on my own. I've driven before so backing is ok but I agree do it on your own. Can your trainer get out of the rig when you're backing? Sing a song while you do it helps clear your mind. Good luck.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

DMV:

Department of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Motor Vehicles

The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.

Does your boyfriend own his own company? Most companies and insurance companies require a 160 hour training certificate. If you don't have one it will probably be a year before you can get hired elsewhere. Otherwose a new company will requite it.

And yes the trainer can be out of the truck while practicing backing. But you should be GOSLing to learn how the truck maneuvers

Yes my boyfriend is self employed. I'm on a permit and have my hours in just need my license from nevada. I don't plan on looking elsewhere for employment. All is well and I'm enjoying seeing the east coast.
