Hey guys!

I've been viewing this forum for a couple of years now and have recently gotten into trucking.

I have started with Western Express as they were the only company that would take my friend for his past.

Does anyone know what the pay per week is for flatbed/dry van team drivers?

Dry Van:

A trailer or truck that that requires no special attention, such as refrigeration, that hauls regular palletted, boxed, or floor-loaded freight. The most common type of trailer in trucking.

There are far too many variables to give you an accurate number. Most drivers earn between 35k to 45k their first year. It all depends on how quickly you catch on to managing your time and getting on your dispatchers good side. For instance freight is slow and you have multiple drivers in the same area that can pick up this load. Driver A is constantly complaining, late or having accidents, Driver B is always showing up early, taking every load with a positive attitude and being a safe driver. who do you think will get that load?

Dispatcher:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

OWI:

Operating While Intoxicated

Western Express is what you make of it, Solo flatbed overall avg with my time their I was making 6-700 a week. Sometimes I would get a big check and a very small one. This was an avg with a good amount of truck maintenance.

Overall I made more than I thought I would but less than what some say was possible.
