Hello Everyone, Love this site, and the forums are great for a trucker-to-be. I am going to attend either Schneider or Swift’s driver academy. My question, and it’s one the recruiter couldn’t answer, is where to park the truck during hometime. I live in the suburbs of Boston, so there’s not many places for a semi. Schneider has a yard in Worcester, so that could work. Swift’s closest yard appears to be in upstate New York. Does that mean I’d have to drive my car 4 hours and back? If any of you could chime in, it’d be great. Thanks and stay safe!

It largely depends on the carrier what they allow. Are there any places around that rent truck parking spaces?? Any properties around not being used that may let you park?? You may need to think outside the box a little. The northeast isn’t known for ample truck parking.

No matter what you find as a possible solution you will need to get it approved by your carrier.
