If the State of Pennsylvania were to increase the fee for their Spotted Laternfly Program Permit holders (spelled MONEY GRAB), would the problem go away?
This whole program has shown minimal evidence that trucking was a cause, continuation, or detriment to the spread of the latest invasive species. A couple of invasive species that come to mind before are the Eastern Ash Borer and the Gypsy Moth.
What spreads most invasive pests? Birds, bats, other wildlife, and the wind. A lack of natural predators will only lead to more widespread population.
