The loads may have slowed down in certain niche markets such as Food Service (Sysco) but in general the industry is thriving. One thing hasn't changed though. You need to be performing to get the good loads. Plenty of work out there, and I don't see it changing any time soon.

Oh man no they haven't from the driver's perspective. More stops, more cases, less routes. If you are working you're getting near 70.

That's exactly what I'm saying. Restaurant sales are down so they're condensing routes to maximize the use of their equipment. Within the last 2 weeks I've delivered 3rd party freight to Olathe (KC) and Ankeny (Des Moines) sysco DC'S and drivers have told me the same thing. In some cases they're sending 2 guys in a truck with as many as 35 stops on a 48'. Earlier in the year food service took a huge hit due to shutdowns. With Covid-19 cases still rising many states are putting restrictions in place that will further affect food service directly. Personally, I'm not going to spend $60 on takeout for the family when we could run to the store and make it at home for easily half that price and have it still warm and fresh when we're ready to eat. Sure the workload is heavier for a driver at this point but if they're taking routes away because they're putting those stops onto other loads ultimately taking a day of work away from someone. That's what I was told by drivers at the 2 DC'S mentioned, your mileage may vary but it's been widely discussed in the news how restaurants have taken, and continue to take a huge hit. I'm sure cases delivering to the hospitals are through the roof! I'm glad to hear you're staying busy because from what I've been told others aren't as fortunate.

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Well, the wife said enough is enough. Bahahahaha, she told me to " fix it" , must be why we're pushing 19 years married. She said it sounded to mean.

What happened to, "Berserker"?

I'm also very happy theres more than enough freight out there. I was kinda worried about that. Also glad to hear everyone still kicking butt out there.
