Hard to believe I started this thread 4 months ago....4 MONTHS... Damn COVID-19. After I got my CDL Permit, and fighting with my PCP and insurance I finally had that sleep study that the DOT doctor wanted. Of course, in the mean time my DOT card has expired. More fighting with my insurance to pay for a C-PAP and 3 weeks later I finally was able to get it. I let my recruiter know about finally getting the C-PAP. I checked my e-mail yesterday out of boredom. There was an e-mail from Prime, Inc with an invitation and start date for orientation....lets just say January 11, 2021 can not get here soon enough. This has been in the process since June, but something I have been working for over the last 4 years or so. Now to update my boss and see if I can take a week vacation from the 11th until the 17th just in-case something goes wrong. This is going to be a fun conversation with my boss (pretty sure it will not be an issue I have over 200 hours of vacation time). Guess I should start going through the High Road Trucking Program as a refresher... Lots of studying to do
Get up ON it, Adam ~!! HRTP is one friend that you WON'T be quarantined from, I'd reckon!
Kudos for ya, finally GETTING thus far! Hard amongst Covid, I'm sure. FINALLY, eh?
I'm not authorized (haha!) to give 'dancing bananas or bears,' but HERE'S a few dancing FARMER BOIS.. for now.. You're gonna FEEL like one, for awhile, considering the 1/1/2021 comeuppance ~!!
Reminds me of an OLD 80's song . . . 'Get Down On It....' LoL~!!
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.
State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.
Sometimes we can be a little stingy with those dancing bananas. You got your permit - that's good. You got your CPAP - that's good too.
Get that CDL and you'll see some generosity around here with the bananas. One step at a time little grasshopper. There is still much to accomplish.
The next three big things for you to check off are...
You won't have to beg for dancing bananas then, you will have earned them. We are glad to give them to those who earn them!
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
CPAP is a breathing assist device which is worn over the mouth or nose. It provides nighttime relief for individuals who suffer from Sleep Apnea.
