I ha interest in the trucking industry and I would like to own a trucking company some day.

For now,I would like a one on one session with an experienced driver or owner operator with many years experience.

Could someone here be willing to answer me some questions that range from truck maintainance, insurance, federal rules etc

I would prefer on direct messages or email since topics I would like to discuss would be too large of a topic to fit in a single forum post.

Thanks

Owner Operator:

An owner-operator is a driver who either owns or leases the truck they are driving. A self-employed driver.

There are a few O/O here but no private messages since your questions will help others who probably have the same questions.

So post them here and someone will answer, but be forewarned most people here are not in favor of being a O/O.

Welcome Geoffrey!

Go ahead and ask your questions. You can break them up into different posts. Our purpose here is to help new drivers make a good start in the trucking industry. New drivers need a lot of good positive guidance. It is seriously lacking when most of them look for it.

You may be much better served by going to the OOIDA Website.

OOIDA:

Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association

Who They Are

OOIDA is an international trade association representing the interests of independent owner-operators and professional drivers on all issues that affect truckers. The over 150,000 members of OOIDA are men and women in all 50 states and Canada who collectively own and/or operate more than 240,000 individual heavy-duty trucks and small truck fleets.

Their Mission

The mission of OOIDA is to serve owner-operators, small fleets and professional truckers; to work for a business climate where truckers are treated equally and fairly; to promote highway safety and responsibility among all highway users; and to promote a better business climate and efficiency for all truck operators.
