Well the bad news is that I learned while on vacation a couple of months ago that the Goodyear contract I’m on with J.B. Hunt got sold out to Ryder. Ryder in turn offered any current account drivers a sign on bonus that started at $3k then bumped to $5k and eventually $10k to be paid out at 30 & 90 days but you basically had a one year contract or pay back a portion. But the good news, thanks to JBH I won’t be switching companies as they matched the $10k as a retention bonus to all drivers that switched to another account. So I’m going back to flatbed hauling Hardie board dedicated.

Flatbed with JB?

Yes, they have flatbed...a couple years ago they were dedicated routes. They have a few hoppers and bull racks out of the Cedar Rapids account. They also have a few reefers.

Dedicated Route:

A driver or carrier who transports cargo between regular, prescribed routes. Normally it means a driver will be dedicated to working for one particular customer like Walmart or Home Depot and they will only haul freight for that customer. You'll often hear drivers say something like, "I'm on the Walmart dedicated account."

Reefer:

A refrigerated trailer.

Hardie is kicking out the product for sure. We haul the primer and paint they use. Been crazy busy.
