It is a "strength" test on a machine hooked to a monitor. It is used to determine if a prospective employee can do the physical portions of the job.
I understand what it basically is and tests. I am just wondering with rotator cuff surgery from 20+ years ago will that have an impact. Thank you Shipmate (12 years USN) and good luck with all your travels.
Those tests aren't that bad, so I wouldn't stress over it one bit.

I had two rotator cuff surgeries 20-22 years ago and my arms weren't weakened by it. Are you still having some sort of pain or weakness? Since I had some experience after my first surgery I started physical therapy on my own a day or two after my second surgery and at my follow-up appointment a week after surgery my doctor said I was already good to go. I'm older than you and still have good strength so if you are still having problems maybe you need to see another doctor. I made sure I saw an orthopedic doctor that specialized in shoulders. I even switched medical insurance to be in a group that had the doctor I wanted to see. I think specialization is very important.
I have a IPCS test on Wednesday the 30th of June along with my drug test. Just wondering whether I should “stress” over this test because I have had rotator cuff surgery. If I get through those tests I start school at Veriha on the 6th of July. I hope to get through them but as a new 60 year old driver it has me worried about arm strength.
IPCS™ provides PCE™ testing which uses isokinetic technology to identify an injured worker's current physical capability and measure how it compares to the physical demands of his job. The main benefit of using PCE™ technology is to determine readiness-to-return to work in regard to knee and shoulder injuries.
