The heading is VERY misleading, but I’ve been dying to know. Do the slot machines in the “game rooms” payout actual money? I’m at a Pilot now that goes off a point system but it states you can’t redeem points for cash? If that’s the case, why would you even play it?! I love gambling (in moderation) but only want to do it if I can at least have a chance of winning something!

If you love gambling I suggest you stay away from them. If however you love throwing your hard earned money away then play away. If you want to gamble, do like I do and find an occasional casino (actual, real casino) and park there for a 34 or 10.

I agree with Mikey, don’t mess with the slots inside a truckstop. I enjoy slots every now and again. There are plenty of Casinos across this country that have truck parking. A good chunk of those that don’t are close enough to a truck stop that they will send a shuttle. the slots inside a truck stop are a true suckers gambit. Majority are for store credit only and the odds on them are worse than most casinos.

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

The trainer I had won $300 in Pilot credit the first time he used them. He bought a GPS with it. I can’t see any other reason to try and would rather light my money on fire first.

If you’re in West Memphis there’s a huge casino with a massive lot for trucks behind it. Snazzy place, took all his money too but the food was great.
