I have been on her reading for a while. Recently started studying the high road program to prepare for the life change (planned for January). Then life happened and I could see changes coming in the bank I am with. So here I go to what I plan to be my retirement career! Thanks to you folks for all the info you provide.

Haya, Brad S. !!!

Yeppers, I remember you; asking about getting your permit and whatnot too soon; pretty sure that we 'overloaded' you with a ton of information, haha!

If Prime doesn't accept you... do you have a back up plan?

Just wondering why you aren't filling out our 'one & done' app, here.... (?!?) Includes COMPANY paid (and paying!) training. Reminder, J.i.c. ~

Incredible help for studying the pretrip, will be essential ANYwhere you go:

Wish you the BEST, man!

Hope all goes well, getting on with Prime!! (Any division choice?? Flats? Reefs? Just wondering, haha!)

Pre-trip Inspection:

A pre-trip inspection is a thorough inspection of the truck completed before driving for the first time each day.

Federal and state laws require that drivers inspect their vehicles. Federal and state inspectors also may inspect your vehicles. If they judge a vehicle to be unsafe, they will put it “out of service” until it is repaired.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

My son is taking his CDL test with Prime, hopefully on Monday. Family affair, and Kearsey, great phone conversation, and information. Second choice is the company that will hire and train me.
